The tradition of daily routine or DInacharya is of utmost importance to prevent diseases leading to health and wellbeing.
Ayurveda Dinacharya consists of two daily cycles:
- Sun cycle
- Moon cycle
During these two cycles, there are 4 hour periods of Vata dosha, pitta Dosha and kapha dosha energies also known as Ayurvedic Body Types . These energies are also present in our body with varying intensity and combinations. Thus, you should prevent activities that aggravate the cycle of the three energies.
First cycle: Sunrise to Sunset-(6:00 am – 6:00 pm)
- 6:00 am – 10:00 am – Kapha
- 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Pitta
- 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Vata
Second cycle: Sunset to sunrise (6:00 pm – 6:00 am)
- 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Kapha
- 10:00 pm – 2:00 am - Pitta
- 2:00 am – 6:00 am – Vata

Rise early
Wake up before sun rises and before getting out of the bed,sit down for a while,rub your palms and feel blessed to see the sun shine.
Drink a glass of warm still water kept by your bed side.
Cleansing of your senses.
Rinse your face and mouth with water,
Brush your teeth followed by massage of gums and oil pulling.
Method of Oil pulling-
Oil pulling is easy to do and involves just a few simple steps.
Here are the 4 simple steps to do oil pulling:
- Measure one tablespoon of oil, such as coconut, sesame or olive oil.
- Swish it around in your mouth for 5 to 10 minutes, being careful not to swallow any.
- Spit the oil once you’re done.
- Rinse your mouth again well using water
